Originally, I experimented with different compositions, heavily leaning into the chaotic style of the film and Jamie Reid/Joe Castro. (images below)

I ended up framing some of my own images in a box like the one on the right to create a disparity between the actual image and the text, which I developed with ink bleed effects and rough

illustrations, following the design trends of my artists (notably

Junji Ito) and the film itself.

Then, I pursued a similar comic-style composition, influenced by Ito. I included the tightly compacted Castro design aswell, with my own images. The background is made up of 2 different images that are also mine, flipped to create a distortion effect taken from Reid. The panels of mixed blending around the image are also inspired by Reid, aswell as the rough text in the bottom left. The colours are all very bright and saturated, just like in the movie, and the comic characters talking is a not so subtle nod to my favourite scene in the film.

I followed this design structure with the rest of my initial designs, primarily focusing on one artist's composition, while including design elements of the other artists. Tying them together with the visual motifs of the movie.
